April 28, 2024

The Milton Chamber of Commerce recently announced all of Milton’s unique, cornerstone events will be back in 2024.

The 21st Annual Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 25, at Milton Memorial Park, nestled along the banks of the Broadkill River. The whole family can enjoy the free event and learn about the wildlife inhabitants of Southern Delaware. Attractions include educational exhibits, crafts, vendors, food and rides on the Milton Clipper Train Express.

Complimentary parking and convenient bus shuttles will be provided at Dogfish Head Brewery, Milton, allowing easy access to downtown treasures, including the historic Milton Historic Society. To be immersed in nature, attendees can drive to Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge for guided trail walks and educational activities along the Delaware Bay.

The Annual Bring Mayberry Back to Milton festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, July 4, with activities all about the kids held in Milton Memorial Park. Games, crafts and Delaware's largest water balloon fight are just a few highlights of the fun.

The Annual Bargains on the Broadkill and Great Duck Race will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24. A great Milton tradition, this quirky event has something for everyone in the family. Shopping, entertainment, a kayak and canoe race courtesy of Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, and finally the great rubber ducky race down the Broadkill River. Spectators can buy duck numbers for a chance to win one of several cash prizes.  The Annual Irish Eyes Broadkill River Race takes place the same day.

Looking ahead to the fall and winter, the annual Wicked Weekend will be back Saturday, Oct. 26, with details to follow. The chamber’s most popular event, the Milton Holly Festival returns Saturday, Dec. 7, with a fun day full of shopping, visits with Santa, free face painting and more. The Holly Festival will resume its traditional second Saturday slot in 2025.
